Meet Steve
Mayor pro tem Steve Knoblock is proud to call San Clemente his home and feels truly blessed to be the father of four children and the grandfather of fourteen grandchildren. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Long Beach, and later obtained a J.D. degree from Western State University College of Law. After passing the California bar exam, Mayor Knoblock worked for two of the largest Title and Escrow providers in the nation, underwriting commercial title policies and resolving large claims across the country.
His career path took him to San Diego, where he worked in banking and became actively involved in local civic affairs. He served on the County Assessment Appeals Board and as Chairman of the County Air Pollution Control Hearing Board. He was also elected to the San Diego County GOP, and then elected to first vice chair.
Eventually, his legal career brought him back to Orange County, where he continued his work in title insurance and Real Estate development. In addition, he served as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chaplain of Gleaners, Inc., a non-profit organization coordinating hundreds of volunteers from dozens of evangelical churches in Orange County's jail system.
As a City Council member, Mayor pro tem Knoblock’s goal is to bring transparency, safety, and fiscal responsibility to San Clemente. He was honored to be able to add the words "In God We Trust" to the city’s logo.
